Your yard is a home
Wild Strawberry Habitat Care is part of a growing movement to treat the land around our homes like the little ecosystems they are. The choices we make in our yards and gardens can impact the quality of our air and water, provide cooler temperatures in the summer, and create habitat for other living beings. Our job at Wild Strawberry is to help do the work and offer you support and resources along the way.
What better time of year is there for a garden-lover than spring? Now is when see who returns from last year--birds, bees, and plants--as wave after wave of new life emerges. Spend plenty of time outside to not miss the bittersweetly ephemeral spring blooms.
Together in April we can:
Prune shrubs that have just finished blooming
Check out online native plant sales from SER-UW Native Plant Nursery and Olympia’s Native Plant Salvage
Start covering lawn areas you want to seed with wildflowers in the fall
Brighten up hardscape areas with power washing
Revive garden pots by cleaning the outside, and amending the soil inside
Keep up with weeding!
